Demon Hunter World of Warcraft (Hero Toys) (Hero Toys)Fans of Warcraft have been eating pretty well as of late. There have been Warcraft figures before, but none have quite hit this bar of quality. There was the DC Unlimited line that came out years ago which had some pretty solid figures of various named characters. Many of them came from the Comic like Valeera Sanguinar, etc. But then things just seemed to stop. Recently McFarlane picked up the license and has produced static posed statue-like figures. These tend to cost $30 or so at retail but are not really what many fans want. Part of the problem is that the figures try to represent multiple classes in one figure. If you are a fan of the games chances are you are going to be disappointed that the night elf rogue/druid is a mish-mash of design elements. People don't care about a nondescript class. I don't know why they went in this direction when they have any number of named characters that would be infinitely more desirable. I only picked up the Orc Warrior/Shaman and Human Warrior/Paladin. These two I feel probably work the best in swapping armor, etc. And they have the Orc/Human vibe. Still, they aren't Illidan. The Demon Killer figure from Hero Toys however is Illidan. Wonderfully sculpted every bulging muscle is captured in stark detail. They have a bit of shading in the recesses too that makes his abs and pecs pop. The detail doesn't end there as they have sculpted his tattoos onto his body which light up along with his eyes. He comes with alternate hands and a few accessories like a flower and fel elemental. He also has his two war glaives and his signature wings. I can't say my figure was without issue. The one I received had the wrong joint on the wing and wouldn't stay in place. I contacted the seller and they were extremely helpful. It took a while but Hero Toys sent a replacement wing to the seller who then sent it along to me. Now that it has the proper wing I can't say I really have any issues with him. He has great articulation though he can have some trouble standing on his own due to his digitgrade legs. Once you get him standing though he can stand fine. He isn't a cheap figure but he is well worth the money. He stands 9" tall so he is a pretty sizable figure and will easily command some shelf space. He will dwarf any of your 6" figures. And his wings take up a good bit of space to the side. You can display him without the wings as the holes (sockets) in his back can be "plugged" It is an interesting time to be a Warcraft fan when you can get figures that look as good as this. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
