RMaster007I already reviewed one of the TMNT Lootcrate figures, now onto the next one. The cartoon crate came with a new Rocksteady figure in the bunny suit from "The Turtles and the Hare", which involved the turtles traveling to a fairy tale dimension to get the help of Hokum Hare to stop Shredder's latest plot, and the dimwits Bebop and Rocksteady got dolled up in Easter-appropriate outfits for this plan. While Rocksteady came with the crate, Bebop could only be obtained if you pre-paid for all three crates at the same time instead of paying individually when each on is shipped.
The package uses the same design as the toon two-packs at Target, and it's very collector-friendly. And bonus, all of the previously released figures are listed on the back of the box.
Being a variant of Rocksteady,...[

Rat King vs. VernonTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Multi-Packs

RMaster007NECA's TMNT line has been full of surprises, with the new Lootcrate series up for sale and plenty of more figures coming soon to retailers, including the return of their Mirage figures that started the line. And even better is that the Targets in my state are finally bothering to stock the cartoon two-packs. The most recent two-pack release contains the Rat King, a recurring villain on the show, and quite unexpectedly, Vernon, the cowardly Channel 6 cameraman who's always trying to one-up April.
The box is just like what we've seen with previous two-packs, but they did a nice job with the artwork on the front. Rat King looks menacing while Vernon is appropriately terrified. Everything is held in place with plastic ties, but the accessories are kept in plastic with plastic trays, with the...[

Mighty MetalheadTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Basic Series

RMaster007I've mentioned it multiple times before, but last year was great for TMNT fans thanks to all the new figures by NECA. Those who grew up with the original Saturday morning cartoon were blessed with plenty of Target-exclusive figures, though not so much with the distribution of them. Thankfully, this year is showing an improvement in distribution, and finding them has gotten a lot easier, at least for me it seems.
One of the better releases last year was the first "ultimate" in the TMNT line, which is Metalhead. Last year around the summer, he was made available as a pre-order for a short time on the NECA store, and they all shipped out last month. He was $30 both in-store and online.
The packaging on Metalhead here may be the best I've ever seen on a NECA figure: it's based off of the...[

Splinter vs. BaxterTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Multi-Packs

RMaster007Last year has been a good year for NECA, especially with the TMNT license. Fans were presented with plenty of great figures, and towards the end, one of the two-packs I was most hyped for came out, and said set is Splinter and Baxter Stockman.
The distribution on the Target-exclusive figures has definitely improved, and now fans are able to get more much more easily, with some stores getting like TEN of the Ultimate Krangs and Splinter/Baxter two-packs each. This set shouldn't be too hard to find, and it'll cost the standard price of $52.
Packaging:
This two-pack uses the standard packaging as the other ones, which is a window box with character artwork on the front and photos of the figures on the sides and back. It's nice and all, but I wish there were character-accurate descriptions...[

Traag and GranitorTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca) - Multi-Packs

RMaster007While NECA has put out plenty of figures this year, one of their most notable lines is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. They've been in full force with the half-shell heroes this year, specifically their license as it relates to the original cartoon. There's been plenty of toon releases this year, but being Target exclusives has made them hard to find, and scalpers tend to buy them up to sell for twice as much.
Fortunately, NECA and Target have been working to make distribution go smoother, and I've noticed some products are easier to get. Back around September-October, I finally managed to score a two-pack right from Target's website: General Traag and Granitor.
The two were put out back around September, and it may be difficult to find one in Target, but if you manage to find...[
