Spider-Man (Toy Biz) Reviews
Nick Fury
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 5
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
The immortal Nick Fury is further immortalized in plastic. I'm glad this guy was released but I wish there were more SHIELD agents made, like that pretty red-head he was always talking to on the cartoon...Anyway... Nick stands at 5 inches of muscle with basic articulation, including the knees and elbows. He wears the standard dark blue suit with white trimmings of top-ranked SHIELD officers. Utility belts, ammo straps, and a gun holster are all sculpted onto him with high detail. The SHIELD emblem is emblazoned on his left shoulder and belt. He also has a name tag so you'll always know who kicked your arse. The resemblance to his appearance on the cartoon is pretty good, with the stubble, eye patch, and white streaks in his hair. His face is in a constant scowl, it almost looks like...[See More]

So I can pretend to be the SHIELD Agent I''ll know I''ll never be? I don''t know about ''pretending''. I feel pretty tough when I wear mine. Of course, I wear it under my shirt so noone else sees it

I wish I still had my SHIELD pin. I had a little metal one and I lost it on a vacation. I havent been able to find another one like it.
Spider-Man 2099
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 7
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
The year is 2099 and Spiderman is still around! Now he's poisonous and he can fly, so it might not be the same ol' Peter Parker, but who can tell under that mask anyway, right? This version of Spiderman is from the future! He stands 5 inches tall and has articulation at the neck, elbows, knees, legs, shoulders, and ankles! And despite all the articulated points, just like Scarlet Spider, this guy still has that cartoon look to him. Spiderman 2099 is based on the comic book of the same name. His whole body is painted a twilight-blue with some red designs on his mask and chest. The design on his chest looks like a skull-spider and is pretty nifty-lookin'. He has 2 red spines near each elbow, which look a little like the spikes on Batman's gloves. The hands are interesting because they...[See More]
Octo-Spidey
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 6
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Octo-Spidey is another variant of Spiderman but I think he's worth getting because he was on the Spiderman cartoon...and he's cool-looking. Spidey stands at 5 inches tall and has articulation everywhere, except his waist, just like Scarlet Spider and Spiderman 2099. He has the same suit as the original Spiderman and everything is crisply painted. He has a very good paintjob, even the spider on his back is very neatly done. Octo-Spidey comes with 4 posable tentacles that look better and work better than the tentacles Dr Octopus uses! The tentacles are 5 inches long each, nicely detailed, and can be bent and posed in any crazy position you want! All 4 are attached to a belt that can be fastened to his waist, and also attached are small cables that lead to a helmet-visor. The belt and...[See More]
Punisher
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 5
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
There is just something so damn cool about this guy...there is some wierd feeling you get from this toy from staring at it for a while, almost as if he's staring back at you and saying "Stop staring at me kid or I'll break your neck." First, if you haven't seen the movie yet, go do that now. Best damn comic-based movie I've seen. There was an earlier Punisher movie but I havent had a chance to find that one yet. The Punisher has his own comic book series as a vigilante anti-hero (too bad I cant afford to buy the comics anymore...). He's actually a really good guy except that he kills people. His family was executed by The Mob and other shady characters and now Frank Castle (The Punisher) roams the night streets in search of villains and gives them what they deserve. The Punisher is...[See More]
Spider-Man (Super Poseable)
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 3
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
This is one of the best versions of Spiderman. This is how a Spiderman figure is supposed to be made, original suit, not too muscular, and super-poseable! With his legs stretched out, when you stand him up he is almost exactly 5 inches tall. This may seem a little too big in comparison to the other figures in the series (because Spiderman is only around 5 foot, 3 inches) but when you put him in a "cool pose" he looks like he definitely belongs. His right hand is sculpted into a fist and his left hand is sculpted like he's shooting his webbing. Articulation is a lot like the Marvel Legends toys but it still looks like an animated figure which is a good job on Toy Biz's part. Joints are at his ankles, knees, hips (full range of motion), waist, torso (I'm so happy he has this...[See More]
Mysterio
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 4
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Another great sculpt from the Spiderman line!! Just one look at Mysterio is all it takes to demonstrate that he is a force to be reckoned with. His suit is very nice!! He has the right color scheme which is light green, lavendar cape, yellow boots-gauntlets-belt, and that cool dome-head. His hands are in great shapes. They look like he is casting a spell or throwing one of his patented Holo-Cubes and seeing as how he is a chemist and a former special-effects man, this was a nice touch. I so badly wanted to give him 5 stars but he does have some minor flaws...like the huge gaping hole in his back. Aside from the standard collectible pin, Mysterio comes with a water-shooter-thingy that you can put in his back and use to shoot water jets from 2 small holes in his chest that are...[See More]
Holiday Special
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Exclusives - Multi-Packs
Rated 2.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I dislike writing negative reviews... Mary Jane. The mere mention of her name brings up images of fiery red hair, tight yellow sweatshirts, and of the mischevious beauty beyond belief...her tangible version begs to differ - BEGS to differ... Oh what joy!! I finally found a Mary Jane!! I never dreamed the day would come when I finally got to own the Lady of Lore, Mary Ja- wait a second...this...this isn't Mary Jane!! Aaahh!! What villain decided it would be a great idea to try and represent The Devine Mary Jane with this...this...imposter!! Oh for shame on the vile scum that sought to ruin Mary Jane's perfection with this horrid figure. Mary Jane is NOT as thin as this wiry impostor. Mary Jane is NOT frozen in a robotic position as this shameful attempt is. Mary Jane's hair does NOT...[See More]

Kraven
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 2
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Kraven is yet another figure that would have gotten 5 stars except for one flaw... There is no question that Kraven's body is a work of art. The color scheme is exactly the same as the cartoon which is how it is supposed to be. His brown boots and white and forest green wrist bands have intricate engravings on them which heighten his look of a jungle predator. The solid black of his pants enhances his leg muscles. The lion's mane he wears as a vest is very detailed. The iron spikes on his waist are perfectly sculpted. Even his hands were excellently made. But just like just about every figure out there, he has a flaw. His head is too small!! I understand that the lion's mane had to be made large and that it would get in the way of the head's movement but really now, this is ridiculous....[See More]
Prowler
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 4
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
The Prowler is yet another, fine creation from the Spiderman figures. Prowler is just beautiful. His suit is mainly green with a lavendar cape, mask, boots and guantlets. His cape is removable and he comes with a collector's pin. When I first saw Prowler, the picture on his packaging caught my eye. He's shown in a crouching position with his razor-claws lashing out. Whoa!! This guy has claws!! So I looked at the figure's claws...and well, they aren't exactly the lethal weapons they seem to be on the packaging...Toy Biz decided to make his claws be able to retract and spring out. A great idea, but they botched the job. The "claws" look more like lavendar toothpics...I'm not saying they are horrible eyesoars, oh no, far from it, I'm just saying they don't look like they are supposed to...[See More]
Venom II
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 4
Rated 4.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
No amount of words can express how finely crafted this figure is. This is the best version (there are like 5 versions) of Venom out there. There is nothing much to say about the paint job, I mean, come on, he's all black with the white spider symbol and the white patches on his hands. Venom's massive build and detailed features are what make him an awesome find. His head looks just like the cartoon version of Eddie Brock. He has small veins protruding all over his body. The blackness of his suit actually catches light and causes it to create a rippling effect over his perfectly proportionate muscles. Yes, Venom is MASSIVE. He's 5 1/4 inches and is built like a bull!! He's heavy too. He's the heaviest figure I have. (Maybe Warstar from the X-men is a bit heavier...robots do tend to be...[See More]
