Amazing Spider-Man Reviews
Hydro-Man
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 2
Rated 1.50 stars by Milbury
This Hydro-Man figure is, in every way, a throwback. Don't be fooled by his release date, his articulation comes straight out of the early 90s era of ToyBiz figures. His elbows have no joints, contrary to the figure's appearance, and his build is very thin and anemic, a far cry from the bulky muscle this superpowered thug should bring to bear. Too small to look right besides Marvel Legends, too tall to fit in with a classic ToyBiz collection, this figure is really just a lame duck in every way. Which is sad, because this is probably the best costume the character ever had. Pass this wet fart of a figure by and get the 2018 Hasbro Hydro-Man if you want a representation of the character, sometimes the newer figures are not always better than their predecessors but in this case it is....[See More]
Venom (Symbiote Blast)
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 4.20 stars by Spidermancustoms2005
Toy biz did an okay job on this venom.he ha this veiny texture that I don't like plus he's a bit beffey for venom. Articualtion is great as other toy biz figures. He has this useless botton on his back that makes his jaw move.lame.the head sculpt is good. It looks like they based this on Eric larsons artwork....[See More]
Spider-Man (Super-Strength)
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 4.00 stars by Collector1
For a long while, I mostly avoided the now defunct Amazing Spider-Man toyline due to the packaging which really turned me off to them. Eventually, I broke down and bought the Super-Strenght Spider-Man and was suprisingly happy with the over all figure. The toy stands at about six inches and has twenty-one points of articulation. Typical of most Spider-Men action figures, his middle and forefingers are hinged to allow you to make the web-shooting gesture. The wrists, ankles, toes, and abs are all hinges. The head, shoulders, and hips are all swivel hinges. Waist, forearms, and calves are plain swivels. The knees and elbows are double hinges. All the joints are tight, but not restricting. The joints seem to be made of softer plastic, so be gentle with it when possing or in play as not to...[See More]

If you still have the package, can you check if it says anything about who sculpted it?
I have this figure and someone on the Fwoosh said it was sculpted by the Four Horsemen, so I was wondering if it was true or not, since I threw away the packaging before they posted it. Although I''m not sure if it would even say or not.

Hobgoblin
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 2
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
Looks like someone purposely decided to make slight annoying "mistakes", yet again. I'll get these out of the way before I rant about them in the main review. :) Hobgoblin comes with a cool metallic-lavender glider that attaches to a rolling smoke-base (to simulate gliding). The smoke trail on the glider can swivel around. Hobs comes with a (removable) plastic-leather purple pumpkin-bomb bag, but nothing fits inside it! Why have a bag if you can't use it! He also comes with a pumpkin-bomb, but it is sculpted onto the palm of his left hand. Why would they do that!? The good part is that you can twist it off with little to no damage to his hand. The most annoying thing (to me anyway) about Hobs is that his legs are too long. It's not like they're too long by just a millimeter, they are...[See More]

I agree, his legs are much too long. It''s as if the legs were intended for a figure without the tall boots he has and then they added boots. It may also be so that he can better bend on the glider. You can get some pretty cool poses if you ditch that cloud and attach they glider to a flight stand.

Yep, I figured the legs had something to do with posing him on the glider. The leg joints got loose on mine though so it''s impossible to get a good pose wihtout some divine intervention (that would be me) xD

Superglue, mayhap?
Shocker
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 3
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I'm not sure what the big deal is with the animated-style Shocker (made for the Spiderman cartoons in the 90's) that people are bidding over 20 dollars for it, but it looks like the new 6-inch Shocker is going to have the same effect on people because it is short-packed. I have nothing against Shocker, but come on, Shocker!? What's so great about this character that he has to be short-packed? And the actual figure isn't too electrifying either. Shocks stands about 6.25 inches to the top of his mohawked head. The Shocker in the comics and cartoon had a bright yellow, black-criss-crossed suit with brownish-red gloves/boots/vest/mohawk/undies and silver electro-gauntlets/belt/bootcuffs. This new Shocker has a new outfit, and it looks much better, but not by much. He has a burnt-yellow-tan,...[See More]

As far as the blasts, I''m fairly certain that Shocker shoots shockwaves of compressed air. That is why his suit is quilted, it''s padded to protect him from the effects of the waves. As far as features like the lauchers, I agree, they are very stupid, especially when built into the figure. I prefer if they add a feature like that, they put in on a removeable attachment.

He shoots AIR and he''s called the SHOCKER? When he shot the blasts in the cartoon they had lightning streaks around them, I figure that''s why he''s called the SHOCKER, dammit. Now I''ll call him the AIR-ER, or the WINDBAG.
Still, it''s a half-decent figure but not worth the high price online.

Ugh No articulation really sucks. I''ll buy it just because its a villian I don''t have but thats the only reason.
Venom (Stealth)
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 3
Rated 3.00 stars by VariablePenguin
This has to be the strangest thing I've ever seen. It is just the symbiote blast Venom made from clear smokey plastic and given some highlights in black paint. It is the exact same figure with the exact same problems and features of the previous one. Well, they did paint the parts on his wrists, but black instead of white to go with the black symbol on his chest. I don't particularly remember ever seeing a clear Venom in the comics, but whatever. It reminds me of all of the variant Metal Gear Solid figures that came out of everyone in stealth camouflage. Basically, ToyBiz just poured some clear plastic into their molds, slapped on some black paint in spots and repackaged the thing....[See More]

Well, Venom is supposed to be able to make himself "invisible", some sort of advanced camoflauge...it still looks wierd though

Does anyone know how rare this figure is? I was just wondering if I should take it out of the box or hang on to it.

I''m guessing the Shocker was short-packed, not this guy. They alwats short-pack the characters everyone wants. That''s such a horrible idea
Venom (Symbiote Blast)
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 1
Rated 4.99 stars by Henchmen4Hire
After a couple of first attempts (and they were pretty good) at making a Venom, Toy Biz finally made the best version EVER. If you want a Venom, this is it, look no further! He's big and ugly and looks like he wants to eat you, but more importantly, he's awesome! This is like a dream come true! When Toy Biz really puts time and effort into something it is a beautiful thing. These figures come around once in a blue moon, and when they do, you'd better hitch a ride from Spidey and swing to the store to get them before the scalpers do... First of all, what the hell!? 7 1/2 inches!? Even Thor quakes in his boots at this guy! Spiderman doesn't stand a chance! (Imagine having to live in daily fear of having massive Venom pop out at you at any given moment? How has Spidey not gone insane yet?)...[See More]

"Hello, beastie..."
Lol.
If you want to give Venom some basic swivel-neck articulation all you have to do is peel off his head. The head is made of soft plastic and is only glued on so if you peel at the glue then you can move his head side to side! You can even move it up and down and all around since it works like a ball-socket joint.
You might have to pull off his tongue if the movement is still limited. Don''t worry, there is a little cavity where the tongue goes in so you can put it back in anytime. You can even spin the tongue around if you decide to pull it off!

After tossing Venom around a little, it seems like the paint on his head peels off VERY quickly. The head is made of rubber so I guess the paint doesn''t stick too well? All you have to do is rub your finger across his teeth and more of the paint will rub off. Very annoying!

I bought this figure on clearance at TRU for $4 and he''s a very nice figue indeed. He makes the SM3 Venom look like complete crap.
Hydro-Man
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Series 2
Rated 1.00 stars by TMB
This figure in my opinion should be melted down and turned into a smurf. It has to be the worst figure I have ever seen. I picked one up at Walmart on clearance and the only thing I could salvage for a custom was the head (Even thats not that great)I had seen pictures of this figure and thought "Wow that looks awesome." Nope...Crap!! The pic I saw showed him with arms bent out to his side, all your basic poses. I get him and he only moves his arms up and down. His bottom portion pulls apart from the upper torso so that you can put him on his water squirting base, which by the way is also lame as hell. I also made the mistake of picking up "Morbius"...thats another review....[See More]
