Sam Wilson is a man whose mind was manipulated by the Red Skull using the Cosmic Cube, in order to make Sam the perfect crimefighting partner to Captain America, but actually acting as the Skull's sleeper agent, under the name Falcon. However, the Falcon resisted the Red Skull's manipulation and became Captain America's friend for real. He fights alongside his pet falcon, Redwing.
