Saurod is one of two warriors (the other being Blade) brought to Skeletor by a mysterious Evil Cloud. Even after the Evil Cloud is defeated by He-Man, Blade and Saurod remain as Skeletor's minions.

After Skeletor uses a Cosmic Key to take over Eternia, he sends Beast Man, Blade, Karg and Saurod after the other Cosmic Key, Gwildor's prototype. When the Evil Warriors return empty-handed, Skeletor disintegrates Saurod to show the others the price of failure.
