Sand Scorpion forces are products of a secret program run by Dr. Mindbender to produce fiercer and more effective troops for the Cobra legions. Hand-picked Sand Viper troops have their DNA recombined with that of their arachnid namesakes. Further recombination has given them scales on the sides of their bodies, which allow them to breathe in the sand. This is irritating and uncomfortable, so all Sand Scorpion troops come out of the sand in a very bad mood and ready to fight anything in front of them.
